Vass is a world renowned brand of handwelted shoes, located in the capital of Hungary, Budapest. The trademark of the high-quality design and the excellent craftsmanship of their workshop is represented by László Vass, the founder and leader of the shop and workshop, who belongs to a generation of shoemakers who were brave and energetic enough to go back to the roots of their craft and revive a rich, old tradition, giving the art of shoemaking new impetus in a new age.
All Vass shoes are entirely handwelted in the Vass workshop, located in Budapest. To learn more about the hand welted shoe making technique, please go here.
For sale we offer the Vass Double Monk. It is made on the elegantly shaped F last. Made from Walnut Museum calf with a single leather sole.
Lasted shoe trees are included with all ready to wear Vass shoes.
Vass Handmade Shoes
All Vass shoes are entirely hand welted, which means the welt is sewn on the sole by hand. It is a time consuming process yet results in a very narrow, elegant waist and quality construction.
Highest Quality Leather
All leathers are sourced from the finest tanneries in France, England and Italy, and are hand selected before being clicked by master craftsmen.
Oak Bark Tanned Soles
Oak bark tanned soles, produced by John Rendenbach, are made from full grain cowhide bends that are soaked up to 12 months in vegetable oak bark tannins. This produces a unique, flexible yet hard wearing outer sole for your shoes.
